The Dangers of Parvo

The canine parvovirus is a viral disease that is life threatening and needs immediate medical attention. Parvovirus is highly contagious and and is very resistant. Which means the virus can live in almost any environment for months to years. It can survive on inanimate objects such as food bowls, clothes, carpet, etc. An unvaccinated dog can get this virus from almost anywhere.
Symptoms of parvo:
-vomiting
-loss of appetite
-bloody diarrhea
-lethargy
-weight loss
Parvo is most often found in puppies. It is easily preventable by keeping your dog's vaccines up to date. If your dog is showing any signs of parvo, please contact a veterinarian right away as it is a fatal illness.
